All I Need

So this is the last entry for my Computing assignment. I decided to leave this idea at the end because I wanted to explain something that probably nobody noticed.
Every single entry has a random song that I have in my Itunes library. This thought occurred to me because I wanted to explain how indispensable and important music is in my life. I’m always listening to my ipod. I like songs with great lyrics and melodies. That is why I hate so much contemporary music, I detest techno. I truly don’t understand how others (and the great majority) approve and enjoy songs that repeat themselves over and over again, with the same words and the same beat. It depresses me so much; I wonder where great music is.
My absolute favorite band is Thirty Seconds To Mars, I went to one of their concerts when they came to my city and it was one of the happiest moments of my life. The energy that absorbed me that night is without comparison.
I also like very very much Coldplay & Mayday Parade.
The soloists I enjoy listening are: Adele, Melendi, Jason Mraz, James Blunt and Christina Perri.
I can’t post my favorite song because I don’t have one. It wouldn’t be fair, and even if I spent my evening thinking about one I’m sure I would stress out. There is absolutely no possible way.

Chasing Cars

I sometimes wonder how my life would be if I changed the way I lived it. How would it be if I completely changed my surroundings, the people I know, the food I eat, the places I visited, the language I spoke, the music I heard?  It is really difficult to imagine it because it’s too much to bear. This kind of thinking would imply the transformation in everything you are and everything you were. It is like being completely aware of the things you have and could make, and still wishing to start a fire so it could extinguish everything you knew, leaving a bunch of ashes. Having that bunch of ashes could provide you the opportunity to reborn like a phoenix. You could start everything all over again but in a different way.
How would I be if I lived in the complete opposite spectrum of my life? What if I lived in the forest or in the countryside in a little house? There I could forget about many things that being born in the city implies.
Maybe it is a very coward thing to do but it gives me the change to dream of a life where I’m not too busy chasing cars.

Maybe

I decided to post a recipe I found in StumbleUppon a few weeks ago. I haven’t had the time to cook it but I’m really looking forward to it. Maybe you are stressed out, or maybe you don’t have something to do this evening. Whichever is the case cooking a very good looking and tempting dessert looks like a good way to spend your time.
Here is the recipe:
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups (210 grams) all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 (11.5 oz) bag milk chocolate chips

STEPS
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a standard size muffin tin with cooking spray. Place 1/2 cup chocolate chips in a Ziploc bag, and seal shut. Lay the Ziploc bag flat in the microwave, spreading out the chocolate chips in a single layer. Microwave for 30 seconds. Remove bag and flip, microwaving for an additional 10-15 seconds until all the chips are softened. Set aside to cool.
2. With an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla and beat until well combined. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to the wet ingredients and beat on low speed until just combined. Add the remaining chocolate chips (1 cup) and stir to combine.
3. Using half the cookie dough, scoop 1.5-2 tbsp of dough, flatten it out a bit, and place in the bottom of the muffin tin. Repeat for a total of 10 cookies. Cut a small tip in the corner of the Ziploc bag, and gently squeeze a layer of chocolate over the cookie. Scoop and flatten the remaining dough and place on top of the chocolate layer. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes, until the edges are just browned. As soon as they come out of the oven, run a knife around the edges to make for easy removing later. Cool completely before removing from the muffin tin, running a knife around the edge to help loosen.
These are good as mini muffins, too! Try baking at 350 for 9 mins. Enjoy!

Death and All His Friends

I think today is a special day because it is February 29! I know it is lame but this calendar date will not repeat itself until four years from now. It feels special when things are different. Well at least that is what I feel.  So today I was thinking of things I wanted to do before I died. It is a very cool thing to do, because I know death is patiently waiting for me. I am pretty sure we all know that and people who try to avoid it are very stupid. Either way some of my dreams for someday are:
1. - travel in a hot air balloon
2.-  watch the polar lights in Alaska
3.- go to the moon
4.- change the world
5.- climb (or build) the world’s longest swing
6.- live in an island without electronic devices for a week
7.- travel the world
8.- fly
9.- experience terrible fear and overcome it, learning from it
10.- make someone really, REALLY happy
I have some others in mind but I don’t wasn’t to bore you reading them I don’t really care the order in which I accomplish them, I just home to put a checkmark in every number of the list....
If you have some wishes for your bucket lists I’ll be glad to read them.

Dreaming Outloud

Not so long ago I started to want really badly to learn how to play the viola. There is something with the sound of the strings, the delicate movement of the bow against them, the melancholy of the melody. Maybe this new out loud dream was created because of something I have been doing for a long time now.
I have a very strange hobby which is finding the soundtracks of the movies I watch. I love to listen to the background music that is made with very sweet, soft sounds. The music that moves the spectator is the one that we barely notice at the moment.
I think it is pure art, the compositors are geniuses and their work makes a big difference with the final project. I’m not saying it is the most important thing in a movie, I’m just saying the film wouldn’t be the same without the soundtrack.
Maybe I’m not using the correct word for this entry, but when I tell someone “listen to the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Score” they look at me as if I were sent from someplace far away. But if we want to get terminological and methodical then “Score” is the best noun for everything I’m telling you.
Here are links to my favorite melodies (if you have time to click the link you should do it)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suOmiBXmJOA (I love the second half of the song)
[Hans Zimmer is God!]
[Alexandre Desplat is also great, and the songs are from my favorite books and movies]
[This composer has not created any movie soundtrack but I love his work, I absolutely adore his melodies]

Anyway these types of symphonies inspire me to create things by my own. Portray my feelings in a different and more touching way. I hope this dream will eventually come true…

I Won't Give Up

Last Monday I saw the movie of “The Vow” with my sister in the cinema. Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams act as the main characters, in the remake of a true story.

In my opinion this film represents what true love really is. It portrays how a man can love a woman and devote to her completely because he is afraid of losing her. It also makes you remember that as any great thing it has its ups and downs, its difficulties and problems.

“The Vow” is the love story of two people, Leo and Paige. The complications they faced when a terrible accident rearranges their lives, is what the movie is all about.

When the accident happened, Paige had a very rough concussion in her head causing a complete memory loss of her life with Leo. She forgets who he is; she forgets her unconditional love for him. Leo never gives up and he tries to make her wife fall again in love with him.

“I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness and to have the patience that love demands, to speak when words are needed and to share the silence when they are not and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home."                                                                                                     -Paige-
“I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love. I vow to love you, and no matter what challenges might carry us apart, we will always find a way back to each other.”
-Leo-

This is a movie I really recommend…

Accidentally in Love

About a week ago I started to remember the story of a book I read when I was in Middle School. A really good friend lent it to me and I just noticed the impact it made in my life. The book is called “If you could see me now” by Cecelia Ahern, the writer of the book “P.S I love you”.

I just adored the idea of the story. The feelings it involves, the plot, the problems, the evolution of the characters, the emotional vocabulary, the success in every chapter, the ability to get hold of you, its magical story, it just opens your mind and heart. I remember I cried and laughed when I was reading in my bed. I remember how all the thoughts and connections started flowing in my mind.

I won’t tell what it is about, or how it starts or ends. If you read this post and are interested I truly recommend this book. The title of this entry has a lot to do with the main characters. But I won't tell you how they both fell accidentally in love with each other, you need to find out by yourselves...
